Mother Can You Hear Me by Trisha McWaters

Mother Can You Hear Me by Trisha McWaters

This piece is from a series I did about healing wounds around my Mother. I had done a breath work session and this Mother issue(s) came up. After the session my therapist asked if I could make a piece of art about it, I said I could. It birthed an entire series that allowed me to heal and forgive her and me.

Make Peace by Trisha McWaters

Make Peace by Trisha McWaters

This little mini (4x4) if from a 9 piece series I call “Emotional Constructs”.  Each one started with a quote then I built from there. This one says to me in order to heal, we must accept and forgive our broken places.

Pain's Sound by Trisha McWaters

Pain's Sound by Trisha McWaters

The starting point for this 8x8 assemblage is the quote “If pain could make a sound the whole world would be humming”. I believe it. There is so much buried and denied pain in our culture it creates this low level hum.

Goodness, Faith, Hope, Gentleness by Trisha McWaters

Goodness, Faith, Hope, Gentleness by Trisha McWaters

These two little minis speak of goodness and faith, hope and gentleness. How could anyone survive the energy of the previous pieces if we didn’t have the promise of hope and faith. I love the sweetness in them.

Swimming

Sometimes it hard for trees to grow

Like it's hard for some to move on

I never did seem to let go

Of all the things long gone

The last year feels like its been ten

I’ve never felt more confined

Like a bird in a steel cage

That was called my mind

We looked for a certain healer

And something to sooth this knot

I was like a dead tree

Leaving myself to rot

What i was never aware of

Was that she was always there

In front of every mirror

Behind the glasses glare

I found the strength that lies within

And much help along the way

To get me in a better place

The place I’m at today

No I am not quite perfect yet

And I still have ups and downs

But now I’m finally swimming

When before I used to drown

How To Fly by Jennifer Sabatier

How To Fly by Jennifer Sabatier

Love yourself everyday

The good parts

Broken parts

The growing changing parts

Love those who are kind

Those who are hurting

Those who seem unlovable

Respect

The old and the young

Listen to your heart

Shhhhhhhh…

Just be quiet, just be still

Hear the quiet sounds

Of truth and love

Whispering all around you

Listen to the trees

The wind, the sea

Listen to the ancient Earth

And all her wisdom

Forgive…

Fully and Forever.

Tell everyone of the peace in your heart

Sing it, paint it, rhyme it

Create it, make it

Splash it, twang it

Speak from your heart

Stomp

Romp

Roam

Rest

Honor the Universe

The sky and sun

The moon and stars

Embrace the heavens and all their gifts

Awaken

Spread your wings
