The 2015 floods that occurred in both May and October changed the landscape of our village forever. Over a dozen people lost lives in these catastrophic events. Eight of those who died belonged to the McComb/Carey/Charba families. And, our community came together; those who needed help and care received it from those who showed up to offer food, water, shelter, clothing, personal items, and compassion.

We invite the community to join us in remembering and honoring all who lost lives, livelihoods, homes, and belongings, and those who supported, saved, cleaned-up, and rebuilt.

On Saturday, May 24, 2025, a concert will be held at Blue Hole. At the request of the McComb/Carey/Charba families funds raised from this event will benefit Texas Search and Rescue, who provided critical services in the aftermath of the flood.

The Walk the River Remembrance will begin Friday, May 23, 2025. This story telling platform pairs artists and storytellers with families who were directly impacted by these floods. The stories of the families and those who supported them through the devastation will be part of an interactive installation at Blue Hole. We will continue to add story panels to honor these families and the community that came together when it mattered most.
