Suicide Prevention Awareness Walk

Parking: You can enter the park from the main entrance from Old Kyle Rd. Parking is available inside the park in the lot near the playground and along the white rocked areas of the road.

Route: The 3/4 mile walk will begin and end at the pavilion across from the playground. The path will be marked. Please arrive and be ready to walk at 9am.

After: Following the walk, there will be a Wellness Fair at the pavilion. If you are interested in being a vendor at the Wellness Fair, please see the details below.

T-shirts: T-shirts will be available for a suggested $20 donation.

How to participate

The WISD Wellness Center, The Greater Mercy Foundation, and Blue Hole Regional Park will host a Suicide Awareness Walk and Health and Wellness Fair at Blue Hole Regional Park on Saturday, September 14th at 9:00 am. Come out and walk and learn more about suicide prevention and awareness. Connection is Key. We invite you to participate by walking the trail, visiting the wellness fair, and connecting with community.

Individuals, community organizations and businesses interested in participating can:

1) Be a Sponsor: Contribute a minimum of $100 to sponsor this event, and contact Jennifer Sabatier with your sponsorship details. We will put your log on this event page linked to your company website. DEADLINE to have your name/company printed on t-shirt: Monday 8/26/24 at 5pm.

2) Be a Vendor: Provide a station at the Health and Wellness Fair. Vendors can participate by emailing us with your information. Please plan to arrive and have your station set up by 8:45am and to provide your own table and supplies. This year there will be no charge to have a table at the fair, but we would appreciate any donations. We will list you as a vendor on the event webpage. DEADLINE to have your name/company printed on t-shirt: Monday 8/26/24 at 5pm.

3) Be a Donor: Donate to the cause through the Greater Mercy Foundation’s link and receive a digital sticker to display on your social media, webpage, etc. designating you as a Connection is Key supporter. The funds generated from this event will support WISD Wellness Center and The Greater Mercy Foundation mental health and wellbeing projects and programs.

4) Be a Walker: Coming out to walk and share in community at the wellness fair.

All contributions collected will be split 50/50 between The Greater Mercy Foundation and the WISD Wellness Center, both are nonprofit businesses.
